I will stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Ex twice unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As both boxers engaged in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually happening.
